By Gracious Akujobi Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) General Secretary, Musa Amadu has given thumbs up to League Management Company (LMC) in its effort to ensure that clubs undergo the mandatory FIFA Club Licensing registration process.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, Amadu says the club licensing regulation documents will be made available to clubs after NFF’s Annual General Assembly (AGA) in Warri.
“If we say we are running professional football in Nigeria we must be seen to run it professionally.
“That is why in terms of sporting, financial, administration criteria there are certain things that clubs must adhere to, certain basic things they must meet up with before they are licensed to play in the league.
“This is what happens all over the world whether it is under the jurisdiction of CAF of FIFA and Nigeria cannot be left out”
The NFF scribe thus advised clubs representing Nigeria in the continent and the other sixteen teams to make sure they comply with the club licensing registration and not feel that the Federation or the League Management body are putting conditions which clubs cannot meet up.
He spoke further, “So what we are giving to the clubs to sign is for the good of the game in Nigeria and it’s for the good of running of professional football in Nigeria so that we can ensure that what has been achieved this past season will be consolidated and sustained so that we can bring back to the domestic game the glamour that it has lost”.
