Hajia Segilola, the Chairperson, Female Football Development Committee of Kwara Football Association, has thrown her weight behind Aisha Falode for a seat on the Executive Committee in the forthcoming Elective Congress of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Alaya drummed the support in Ilorin while fielding questions from newsmen.
Falode, who is the Chairperson of the Nigeria Women Football League, declared her intention to join the race for the position in the Sept. 30 NFF elective congress slated for Benin City, Edo.
Falode is the only female appointed executive committee member of the present NFF.
She said that she decided to contest for the seat because of her desire to effectively build up women’s football both at the league and national team levels.
Falode said that the idea behind her aspiration for the seat is to make sure Nigerian football professional existence is not shut down.
Alaya, who is also the Founder/Matron of Abruka Queens Football Club of Ilorin, said that Falode has shown her managerial qualities with the management of the female league, and been on the board as an elective member would further assist female football game in Nigeria and Africa.
“I want to salute the courage of the Chairperson of the Nigeria Women Football League, Falode, for what she has done, and what she is capable of doing.
“This is why I will want to say that she deserve to be on the board of the NFF as an elective member,” she averred.
“With Falode on the Board, we would effectively consolidate on the gains of female football, push for more reforms, development and growth for the girl child who is looking for the opportunities in the game for self growth, education and empowerment. (NAN)
