The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is confident that coaches appointed to manage the national Under 23 team would live up to expectation by meeting the targets set for them.
The Chairman of the NFF technical committee, Chris Green said that the executive committee of the NFF has since approved the appointment of the trio of Fatai Amoo, Baba Jubril and David Ngodigha for the U-23 national team.
He said that Fatai Amoo, a former assistant coach of the Super Eagles would do well despite his club, Sunshine Stars FC not doing well in the Nigeria Premier league.
“We won’t go back on the appointments of the coaches just because of a couple of poor results. Amoo has proven himself and we shall give him all the necessary support to succeed with the Dream Team”
“Our focus now is the appointment of coaches for all the national women teams and other age-grade teams.
“We are not going back on the coaches we appointed for the U-23 team. We have confidence in them and sure they would deliver” he stated
On the qualification of the Super Eagles for the CHAN cup in South Africa, Green stated that it was a nail biting game in Abidjan pointing out that he was happy they broke the jinx
