The National Directorate of Employment (NDE), has reitrated commitment to youths empowerment through robust entreprenuership skills development programmes in the country.
The NDE Director-General, Malam Abubakar Fikpo, stated this at the inauguration of a Environmental Beautification training exercise for youths, on Thursday in Kano.
Represented by Danjuma Shehu, the NDE Coordinator in the state, Fikpo said the exercise was designed to provide self employment opportunities by creating a pool of entrepreneurs that would become employers of labour.
He said training programme was one of the laudable schemes designed for unemployed persons to acquire skills in environmental beautification and sanitation.
He said the trainees would be exposed to hardland and softland scaping as well as Plaster-of- Paris (POP), adding that the exercise would acquaint the beneficiaries with the knowledge in the area of beautification to make them self-reliant.
The NDE boss urged the beneficiaries to utilise the opportunity, and learn the skills to enable them to become self-reliant.
