The Acting Director General of the National Commission for the Coordination and Control of Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapon, NATCOM, Otunba Dr. Adejare Rewane Adegbenro has felicitated with Nigerians for their unwavering support for the nation’s democracy as they mark 2023 Democracy Day Anniversary.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the director Media and Publicity of the agency, Mr. Paul Effiong, made available to journalists in Abuja on Sunday.
NATCOM according to the media statement further described 2023 Democracy Day celebration as unique milestone in the nation’s democratic journey urging the citizens to always be optimistic.
The statement also urged Nigerians to trust the leadership style of Otunba Dr. Adegbenro, noting that his transparent records in management of public and private business were unquestionable.
The statement further commended the federal government for putting a complete, strategic mechanism in place to kick start effective economic growth as well as all rounds development for the benefit of all Nigerians.
NATCOM leadership also described President Tinubu as a true democrat who has involved in the struggle for the return of democracy to the country and who has finally assumed the position of authority in order to enthrone true democratic norms and culture for the purpose of bringing to bear more dividends of democracy to all Nigerianns.
NATCOM also used the opportunity to express it’s readiness to curtail and end all forms of Ilegal businesses relating to small arms and light weapons in Nigeria.
Consequently the agency while appreciating Nigerians as they continue to support the country’s return to democracy further advised all illegal dealers in arms to find alternative legit businesses as there will be no room again in the country for any illegal business in the country no matter the social status of those involved.
