By Godwin Kingsley, Lafia Nasarawa State Government has expressed its readiness to collaborate with the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company for stable power supply in the
state.
Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura made this known when he received the management team of the company at the Government House Lafia, Thursday.
According to the governor, the state government is ready to partner with company, in view of its track records in electricity distribution over the years.
The governor however, welcomed the management team and informed them of the state government’s plan to embark on rural electrification across the state.
Earlier, the chairman of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, Shehu mallami said the essence of their visit was to intimate the state government on their plans to partner with it.
He elucidated that the company took over from the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, on November 1, 2013 to boost the power supply of areas within its jurisdiction.
Shehu added that, the company is expected to cover Kogi, Abuja, Nasarawa and Niger state, KANN.
