The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has passed into law a Bill for a Law to establish the Nasarawa State Investment and Development Agency, saddled with the responsibility of promoting, facilitating and coordinating investment in the state and other related matters.
Speaker of the house, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, announced the passage of the bill into law during the House proceedings in Lafia, Monday.
“A Bill for a Law to Establish the Nasarawa State Investment and Development Agency Charged with the Responsibility Among Other Things to Promote ,Facilitate and Coordinate Investment in the State and Other Related Matters, third reading and pass,” he said.
Tanko Tunga, the Majority leader of the House moved a motion for the third reading of the bill which was seconded by Danladi Jatau, the Minority Leader of the House
According to Balarabe Abdullahi, the bill, if finally assented to would go a long way in promoting and coordinating investment in the state.
“This bill if finally signed into law will also boost the state socio-economic activities, improve IGR and as well as improve on the standard of living of the people of the state ‘he said.
Prompt News recalls that the bill is an executive bill presented to the House by governor Abdullahi Sule.
The speaker then directed the clerk of the House to produce a clean copy of the bill for the governor’s assent .
Balarabe Abdullahi reiterated that House is ever ready to continue to support the economic and investment policy of the Abdullahi Sule-led administration, as it benefits the common man.
