Super Eagles stars Ahmed Musa and Moses Simon have condemned the heartbreaking killings in Benue State, Prompt News reports.
Heavily armed Jihadists stormed Yelwata, a farming community in the Guma county of Benue state last Friday, setting ablaze the homes and slaughtering the predominantly Christian inhabitants.
Over 200 lives were lost during the gory incident.
“Another wave of heartbreaking killings in Benue. How many more lives must be lost before real action is taken? We can’t keep condemning violence and then moving on. Don’t wait until it happens close to home or to someone you know — speak out now,” Musa wrote on X.
“To our leaders: governance is not just for election season. We need consistent action, not seasonal appearances. We demand more. We deserve better. Benue deserves peace. Nigeria deserves better. Sincere condolences to those who lost their lives in the process and to their families, may Allah grant you the fortitude to bear the loss.”
Simon commiserated with the families of those affected by the incident and demand justice against perpetrators.
“My heart goes out to the victims and families affected by the tragic Benue killings,” reads a short message on his X account.
“We must stand together against violence and demand justice. #PrayForBenue #JusticeForBenue.”
