An American-Nigerian crowned Miss Africa United Nations, Jodie Frank, has endorsed Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia as the candidate for the Abia South Senatorial District during the Feb. 25 general elections.
The Miss Africa-UN crowned Queen made this known in an interaction with newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday.
The reigning Africa UN Queen and her group, the Network of Enlightened Youth Movement pledged to mobilise more support towards the emergence of Ikpeazu as the Senator.
Frank stated that her choice was based on the myriad of infrastructural development in Abia and promotion of Made-In-Aba products.
She said that Ikpeazu’s promotion of made of those goods such as bags, shoes and clothes had strengthened the local content policy as well as generated many direct and indirect jobs for the youths.
“The candidate had exposed the traders to numerous national and international exhibitions with a view to enhancing these goods,’’ Frank said.
According to her, there are shops in Europe, Asia and other countries of the world where only Aba made products are being sold.
“You are aware that through the Governor, the Nigerian Army, Customs, Navy and other paramilitary organisations have turned to shoe makers in Aba for the supply of their footwear,’’ she said.
Frank, therefore, described the Feb. 25 elections as a payback time for the traders and youth who enjoyed unprecedented support from Ikpeazu, to vote for him as a Senator.
Frank advised Nigerian youths to shun all negative tendencies, including electoral violence, before, during and after the 2023 general elections. (NAN)
