There was a minor fire incident at the Federal Ministry of Finance in the early hours of Wednesday.
According to an eye witnesses account, the fire was caused by an explosion of expired inverter batteries at the basement of the Ministry’s building.
The spokesperson of the Federal Fire Service, Abraham Paul, who confirmed the incident said men of the fire service have been deployed to the scene.
When contacted by our correspondent, a top official of the ministry who craved anonymity, described the development “as a minor fire incident” which was quickly contained by security personnel in the premises before the arrival of firefighters.
