Nearly ten months after gates of Nigerian public universities were shut by the protracted nationwide strike embarked on by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the management of the Federal University of Agriculture Umudike aka Michael Okpara University of Agriculture (MOUA), Umudike, has said academic activities will resume on January 25, 2021.
Prompt News has learned from sources close to the Senate of the school that lecturers will be in the classrooms from January 25 to teach students after several months of closure of schools across Nigeria.
Although it is not yet clear if the university authority will opt for phased resumption of physical classes beginning from January 25 like some other universities.
However, returning students are expected to strictly comply with Covid-19 health protocols recommended by both the Federal Government and school authorities.
Students are required to observe Social Distancing, Wearing of Face Masks and Hand Washing before entering the lecture rooms.
