A 27-year old mechanic, Uchechukwu Mbah was on Monday, docked before an Amawbia Chief Magistrate’s Court, Awka, Anambra, for alleged stealing vehicle parts worth N850,000.
The defendant, whose address was not given, is being charged with stealing to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, ASP Hojo Ubanna, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on May 14 in Awka.
Ubanna said that the defendant stole a truck catalytic converter worth N700,000 and a wheel worth N150,000 belonging to his client.
He said that the offence contravened Section 353(b) of the Criminal Code Cap 36 Vol. II, Revise Laws of Anambra State of Nigeria, 1991(Amended).

The Chief Magistrate Mike Anyadiegwu, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 and one surety in like sum.
He said that the surety must reside within the court jurisdiction.
He adjourned the case until July 4, for further hearing.(NAN)
