Senate President David Mark  went philosophical as he agonized over the gruesome murder of 28 students and  a teacher at the government secondary school, Mamudo, near Potiskum in Yobe state at the weekend by gun men believed to be Boko Haram.

An angry Mark stated:”Even in war situations, and women are protected . Killing is akin to cutting down the future of a people. This is inhuman, barbaric and unacceptable to any right thinking member of the society.

“For no reason, the lives of these promising were needlessly cut down by the heartless people. This cannot be a way of life, enough of this bloodshed”.

Mark quoted from the Holy Bible to drive home his point that deserve the protection and care no matter the circumstances.

Specifically, he said Mathew 18 : 10 states ” Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my father which is in heaven while Mark 9:42 added ” And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me , it is better for him that a milestone were hanged about his neck and he were cast into the sea”.

He noted that the perpetrators have committed against God and humanity, saying that “this is barbaric, wicked and condemnable”.

He therefore urged the operatives to step up their surveillance and monitoring activities to halt the trend and bring perpetrators to justice.

Senator Mark assured that the National Assembly would continue to give priority attention to appropriation to the operatives to carry out their duties without hitches .

He sympathized with government and people of Yobe State especially the bereaved families over the unfortunate incident just as he pleaded with the perpetrators of the heinous crimes to give peace a chance.

The Senate President pointed the government has opened enough windows for dialogue and peace which any aggrieved persons and groups could take advantage of and end these terrorism in the land.
