In a bid to acquire knowledge on the ease of doing business reform, The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd.) has approved a two-day sensitization workshop on the ease of doing business reforms for officers and stakeholders in maritime.
This is in line with the mandate by President Muhammadu Buhari, to reform, restructure and enhance revenue collection of the Nigeria Customs Service.
The CG, during a working visit to NAGAFF headquarters on Monday March 27, 2017 assured the freight forwarders that the Service is irrevocably committed to ensuring the training of officers and stakeholders in its efforts to reposition the service for optimal revenue generation while ensuring the facilitation of legitimate trade.
The workshop which is slated for Wednesday 12th to Thursday 13th April 2017 at Auditorium, NCS Training College Ikeja, Lagos, is therefore intended to effectively get operatives and relevant stakeholders on the same page about the new policies aimed at making Nigeria an investment friendly destination.
In a release made available to Newsmen by the National publicity Secretary, Mr Stanley Ezenga, the first day will be attended by NCS officers only while other stakeholders will participate in the second day.
Freight Forwarders and NAGAFF members are advised to be part of the workshop in order to update their knowledge in cargo clearance, as this is a veritable opportunity for them.
