The leadership of the Malawi Football Association has apolozised to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over negative comments which they made about security situation in Nigeria.
Mohammed Sanusi, Director of Competition at the NFF, who disclosed this to Prompt News Online, said the General Secretary of Malawi FA, Nyirenda Suzgo and a team official were at the NFF Glass House to apologise for the bad light which they portrayed NFF and Nigeria at large over insecurity rumour which they forwarded to FIFA.
“The advance party from Malawi which included their General secretary and an official were here in my office as soon as they landed in Abuja”
“They were here to exchange pleasantries and of course to say they are sorry for some of the misinformation they have received which they forwarded to FIFA in respect to security”
“When they landed, they found out that the place is very secured and they promised to tell their people that this place is secured”
Sanusi further revealed that Director Technical Emmanuel Ikpeme is already on ground in Calabar where he is making sure all arrangements are on course to ensure a hitch free game and when asked about how well the players are motivated leading to this important qualifier he said,
“The players are motivated because they know that it is very important to wear the national color and they also know that NFF have not failed in its responsibility to the players.
“They know that apart from wearing the national color they have names to protect so, they are very well motivated and they are ready to do the country proud” he stated.
