The Adamawa Government, in collaboration with Malaria elimination partners concluded plans to distribute no fewer than 3.2 million insecticide treated nets to residents.
The Manager State Malaria Elimination Programme, Mr Benjamin Nashon, disclose this in an interview
with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola on Friday.
Nashon said the distribution would commence on July 1, to end on July 12, adding that it would be a house-to-house exercise.
He also said that each net would be for two persons with maximum of four nets per household.
He added that the target beneficiaries were more than five million, cutting across the 21 local government areas of the state.
He disclosed that the partners include Management Sciences for Health, Catholic Relief Services and National Malaria Elimination Programme, with funding from Global Fund Malaria Project.
He, therefore, called on residents to remain at home during the exercise and give accurate number of people living in their households.
Nashon assured that each house would be visited and urged them to make use of the nets to protect themselves from mosquitoes, especially pregnant women and children.
He further advised them to abide by the instructions before using the nets (NAN)
