By Gracious Akujobi Chairman of the newly promoted Premier league club, Taraba FC, Tijani Babangida has called on both League Management Company (LMC) and Club Owners to bury the hatchet so as to allow peace to reign in Nigeria football.
The former Super Eagles winger said he is not interested in pitching tent but only concern with ensuring peaceful resolution of the crisis.
He however opined that if the issues are not resolved on time, it may affect the resumption date for the new season which may not augur well for Nigeria football.
“We and the other three newly promoted clubs were invited to the meeting as observers. And as usual we all signed the attendance list. But I was not part of the previous day meeting where most of the decisions were taken because I arrived Abuja Wednesday morning,” Babaginda said.
Nevertheless, the former Super Eagles winger noted that there is great sense in what the club owners are requesting for while also stressing that the LMC has also done much to re-position the Nigeria Premier League.
“As an observer I patiently listened to the submission of the Club Owners and I have also seen the good work of the LMC.
“It is a fact that their tenure has expired but because of the progress they have made and with more work to be done I feel they are still relevant for the coming season but the club owners must be respected and carried along in the plans to elongate their tenure” Babangida opined.
