The leadership and members of the Labour Party (LP) worldwide are rolling out the drums in celebration of their National Chairman, Barrister Julius Abure as he clocks 52 today.
A statement made available to journalists in Abuja by Comrade Obiora Ifoh, LP National Publicity Secretary, said Abure has been a blessing to the party and wished him well on the occasion of his birthday.
The statement read in parts: “Barrister Abure who has been occupying the exalted office of the chief executive officer of a political party with the largest followership in Nigeria since 2021 after he was unanimously elected in a Benin NEC meeting following the death of its former Chairman Abdulkadir Abdulsalam. Abure rose through the ranks having been Edo Asst State Secretary and Secretary. Deputy National Secretary and then National Secretary. He then assumed the position of Natiomal Chairman in 2021.
Within one year of his assumption, Abure through his savvy, doggedness, steadfastness and astuteness navigated the Labour Party from just like any other party to a most formidable front defying every logical political permutation ahead 2023 general election.
It is still believed in most quarters that LP came top in the presidential election, though the electoral umpire thought otherwise however, the party from zero position pocketed 8 Senators, 35 House of Representatives and over 60 State House of Assembly positions. In Abure’s first year in charge of the leadership, he also produced a state governor with another almost assured.
This ‘miracle’ didn’t just happened. It was also neither a fluke because it takes more than dedication and hardwork to realize such lofty ambition. The good book says ‘ Have you seen a man diligent in his works, he will dine with Kings and not with mean men. It was this philosophy to work that endeared Abure to kings including our revered presidential candidate who jettisoned the bourgeoisie parties to anchor with the proletariat LP, a party driven by the love for the ordinary Nigerians.
Barrister Abure has remained a humble, committed, compassionate and selfless personality. He also continued to demonstrate an uncommon sense of duty and commitment in the leadership of the party and Nigeria by deepening our democracy through his brilliant style of opposition.
The Labour Party is very proud of your achievements and we celebrate Barrister Abure on this special occasion and pray to the Almighty God to grant him many more years in wisdom, good health and sound mind in the service of our fatherland and as we always say “To God be the glory,” Happy Birthday to the People’s Chairman”.
