Sequel to a request by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara state, the House of Assembly has approved the Governor’s request to access N1.25 billion from a commercial bank.
The lawmakers having deliberated on the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation headed by Suleiman Sunaboro, gave the approval.
Governor Ahmed had stated that the loan when accessed will be used to finance developmental projects across the state.
Commenting on the request, Speaker Rasaq Atunwa, said the request to access the loan is in line with the provisions of Section 35 sub-sections 1a and 1b and 36 2a and 2b of the Fiscal Responsibility Law.
He also said that the request for the loan conformed to due process.
