Tunde Abdulrahman has been appointed as the new Head Coach of Nigeria National League, NNL side, Kogi United.
Abdulrahman, 58, will head the technical department of the Lokoja based club following the exit of Ishaya Jatau.
Chairman of Kogi United, Abdul Sule at the unveiling reception on Wednesday in Lokoja said the decision to bring Abdulrahman was easy based on his track records and achievements in coaching.
Sule noted that the management would give the new tactician the needed and necessary support to achieve the club’s target, which is to gain promotion to the apex league in the country.
“We are happy to bring in Coach Abdulrahman to United, he’s great coach who does the job with total dedication, it was easy for us to bring him in as his history and ambitions rhymes with ours.
“I’ve watched him play, I’ve seen the club’s he’s coached, he’s a great player, great coach and I’m sure the luck that has been following him with other clubs he’s managed to gain promotion will continue to work for him as he’s now with us,” he said.
Abdulrahman who assisted about five clubs to gain promotion to NPFL expressed delight with the opportunity to work with Kogi United.
“I’m happy to be here, it’s a great opportunity, we don’t have time to delay, we know our aim and target, it’s to go to premier league, It’s overdue for us to be in the NPFL

I’m here to work, to prepare you well for games, to win matches and I just jet you know that to be a champion it’s not easy, I will need your total dedication and commitment, I’m soliciting everyone support and I’m open to advice that will help us achieve our goals,” the former Ranchers Bees defender said.
Coach Tunde Abdulrahman hails from Kwara State. He has played for Nasara United, Ranchers Bees and a member of Kaduna Football team to the Oluyole 79 National Sports Festival in Ibadan.
Abdulrahman has managed several clubs at various categories in Nigeria.
Notable among them are Wikki Tourists, Katsina United, Elkanemi Warriors, Niger Tornadoes, Gabros FC (now FC IfeanyiUbah) FC Taraba and Jigawa Golden Stars.
Kogi United will be taking on Jigawa Golden Stars on Saturday in the Matchday 4 of the NNL in Lokoja.
