Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna State on Tuesday in a significant move to bolster security distributed 150 vehicles and 500 motorcycles to the various security agencies in the state.
Sani said the distribution ceremony marked a major step in the ongoing efforts to enhance the safety and well-being of the citizens.
He emphasized the importance of empowering security personnel, stating, “We are gathered here to take a giant step in our collective efforts to enhance the security and well-being of the people of Kaduna State.”
He highlighted that these resources would improve the mobility and response capabilities of the security operatives, enabling them to address threats more effectively.
The governor assured security agencies of continued support and acknowledged their dedication and professionalism, which are vital to the state’s security strategy.
“Let these vehicles and motorcycles become symbols of hope and safety for our communities,” he said.
Sani also announced the signing of the Kaduna State Security Trust Fund Bill into law, which aims to secure ongoing funding for anti-banditry and anti-terrorism efforts.
He said the initiative was part of a broader strategy that includes enhancing security at schools, health facilities, and markets, as well as scaling up intelligence gathering and private sector engagement.
The governor reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting security agencies, acknowledging the challenges they face, particularly in accessing remote areas swiftly.
Sani also praised plans to establish state police and strengthen the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVS), which has recently recruited additional 7,000 personnel.
Sani expressed gratitude to the national security architecture, traditional authorities and all the security personnel, especially those who have sacrificed their lives in service to the state.
On his part, Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa at the event, appreciated the state government for donating the operational vehicles to support their mission in protecting the nation
He said the provision of the vehicles and motorcycles would undoubtedly bolster their operational readiness, enhance mobility, and further strengthen their capacity to safeguard the security and sovereignty of the country.
Musa added that the operational vehicles would facilitate strategic mobility and serve as a testament to the enduring spirit of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

He said, “These vehicles will further enhance our operational effectiveness, protect our communities, and uphold the values of loyalty, courage, and unity that define our armed forces.”
Also speaking, the Commissioner overseeing Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan, said the donation showed the state government’s commitment in securing the lives of its citizens.
He said that the vehicles would assist in enhancing the response capabilities of the security agencies. (NAN)
