Kadar Stars of Kaduna state have emerged champions of 2023 National Hockey Super League held at weekend in Abuja by beating police Machine 4 – 2 at the final.
Also the female counterpart of the state Kada Queens defeated Delta Queens 2-1 to clinched the Champions Trophy.
Speaking after the match, newly appointed commissioner of Sports Prof. Benjamin Kumai Gugong expressed satisfaction with the outstanding performance of the two teams.
Gugong promised to support the champions to maintain standards in Hokey tournaments and also give other sports facelift in the state
Ibrahim Baba Ndana.the head coach of the state champions expressed joy for the feat said the players exhibited high sense of discipline and focus and promise to fashion out other strategies to maintain standard.
. “You know to remain on top, you must work day and night because others are not sleeping . They also work hard to detrone the champion. We must do the needful”.
