Governors of the six states in the South-West are converging on Ibadan for an emergency meeting to address growing security challenges and other pressing regional issues.
The unscheduled session, holding behind closed doors at the Governor’s Office, Agodi, is being hosted by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.
All governors from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states are expected at the meeting, which insiders say was called at short notice due to heightened security alerts across parts of the region.
Though official details are still emerging, sources disclosed that the agenda will cover the rising wave of insecurity, acceleration of key infrastructure projects and renewed commitments to regional cooperation under the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN).
