Jubilation in Katsina as Buhari returns home

Immediate past President Muhammadu Buhari has finally arrived his home state, Katsina after handing over to the new President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at Eagle Square,  Abuja on Monday.

The Presidential Jetliner, Air Force 001 which conveyed the former President for the last time touched down at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport, Katsina State at about 1:15pm this afternoon.

New Katsina State governor Alhaji Dikko Umar Radda who was sworn-in at about 10:45am on Monday was at the airport to welcome Buhari back home alongside the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF),  Mr. Abubakar Malami, SAN was also on ground to receive the former President.

Also, ex-ministers of Aviation, Alhaji Hadi Sirika;  Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami;  former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief  Femi Adesina (Nwannedinamba 1) joined other dignitaries, family members and well wishers to welcome Buhari and his family home in Katsina. 

Prompt News reports that people in the state were excited on his return as they thronged the major roads to welcome Buhari back in a grand way.

As at the time of this report, former President Buhari is now on his way to his hometown in Daura, near the border between 

Nigeria and Niger Republic where he has constantly said he will spend his retirement without disturbance from Abuja.
