Former Nigeria’s President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s unscheduled visit to President Muhammadu Buhari today (Thursday) may not be unconnected with his recent appointment by the African Union (AU) as the leader of the body’s Elections Observations Mission to Mozambique.
Dr. Jonathan who had earlier today paid President Buhari a surprised visit may have come to tell the current Nigerian leader that he has been nominated by the AU to lead the continental body’s Election Observation Mission to Mozambique’s scheduled October 15 general elections.
In view of this, the former President is billed to leave the country on Friday (tomorrow) for Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, where he will be overseeing the deployment of the mission’s 40-member team of observers to different parts of the country.
