Alex Iwobi is set to join the Super Eagles centurion club when Nigeria face Portugal in an international friendly at the Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa in Leiria on Wednesday, Prompt News Online reports.
The Fulham midfielder currently has 99 appearances for the three-time African champions and will earn his 100th cap if he features against the Portuguese.
Iwobi will become only the fourth Nigerian player to reach the milestone, joining Ahmed Musa, Joseph Yobo and Vincent Enyeama in the exclusive club.
The 30-year-old has represented Nigeria at senior level for 10 years and eight months, having made his debut in a friendly against the Democratic Republic of Congo in October 2015.
Before switching his international allegiance to Nigeria, Iwobi represented England at youth level.
“I am proud to be where I am today; proud to wear the green-and-white. I am grateful to everyone, including the coach who called me up to the team for the first time. I have no regrets choosing Nigeria,” the former Everton player told thenff.com.
