Alex Iwobi can’t hide his excitement after hitting a personal milestone in the English Premier League, Prompt News reports
Iwobi made his 300th Premier League appearance in Fulham’s 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United at the St James’ Park on Saturday.
The 29-year-old is the first Nigerian to achieve the feat.
The versatile midfielder is also now fifth on the African highest appearance record.
Only Kolo Toure (353), Mohamed Salah (309) Wilfred Saha (309), Jordan Ayew (305) have played more games than him.
Iwobi said it’s a big honour for him to achieve the feat.
“It’s amazing,” he said. “It’s a big achievement to lead that, with the likes of Shola Ameobi and even my uncle [Jay-Jay Okocha] that’s participated in the Premier League,” he was quoted by Fulham’s official website.
“It’s an honour, but I’m not done yet, I’m going to keep on going and hopefully keep the record going.”
