The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially recognised the faction of the Peoples Democratic Party’s National Working Committee aligned with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The electoral body reflected the change on its official website on Monday, publishing an updated list of the party’s national executives.
Abdulrahman Mohammed was listed as National Chairman, with Samuel Anyanwu named National Secretary, alongside other key office holders in the party’s hierarchy.
The officials assumed their positions following the PDP National Convention on Sunday night at the Velodrome of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
At the convention, delegates reached a consensus on the composition of the National Working Committee after dissolving the former National Caretaker Committee.
The updated list shows Aaron Chukwuemeka and Yusufu Akirikwen as Deputy National Chairmen for the South and North, while Kolawale Olabisi was named Deputy National Secretary.
Odeyemi Oladiran and Lado Marke were appointed National Treasurer and Deputy, with Eyim Henry and Grema Kyari taking on the roles of National Financial Secretary and Deputy.
Umar Bature and Efere Augustine were listed as National Organising Secretary and Deputy, while Jungudo Mohammed and Egwu Chidiebere assumed positions as National Publicity Secretary and Deputy.
Kamaldeen Ajibade and Aloysius Uba were named National Legal Adviser and Deputy, and Osuoha Donatus and Adaba Seri Yatu were appointed National Auditor and Deputy.
The leadership also includes Ogunshe Adedayo and Hauwa Shinge as National Women Leader and Deputy, with Ibrahim Aboki and Momoh Bashir serving as National Youth Leader and Deputy. The recognition by INEC is expected to solidify the Wike-aligned faction’s control of the party structure.
