***As Festus Okoye bows out

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has appointed Mr. Sam Olugbadebo Olumekun as its new Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee.
Olumekun replaces former National Commisisoner, Barrister Festus Okoye, whose tenure expired recently.
The appointment by INEC was confirmed in a terse press statement made available to journalists in Abuja by Mr Rotimi Oyekanmi, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmoud Yakubu.
The statement read in parts: “I am pleased to inform you that we now have a new Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC).
“He is National Commissioner Sam Olugbadebo Olumekun mni, who needs no introduction.
“He replaces former National Commissioner, Barrister Festus Okoye, whose tenure expired recently”, the statement concluded.
