The Indian government has decided to offer India-made COVID-19 vaccines to all envoys, UN workers and people working in inter-governmental agencies in the country and their family members.
Indian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Anurag Srivastava, disclosed this special drive in a weekly news briefing on Thursday, stressing that, “All eligible members of diplomatic corps and their families have been offered the vaccine.
“Not only envoys but UN and intergovernmental agencies working here have also been offered the vaccine.
“This drive of vaccination of diplomats is available in all locations across the country,” he added.
India which is now termed a World Pharmacy is at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19.
India is emerging as a key supplier of the vaccines to more than 70 countries now on a commercial and humanitarian basis.
Back home, India is running what is regarded as the world’s biggest COVID-19 vaccination programme. (ANI/NAN)
