Signs that the feud between the incumbent governor of Imo, Hope Odidika Uzodimma and a former governor of the state, Rochas Anayo Okorocha may soon disappear like the early morning dews have emerged as both men on Thursday came together to the State House, Abuja to meet with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Uzodimma and Okorocha, who have become political enemies in recent times arrived the Presidential Villa at about 6:07 pm along with the newly appointed National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
However, the trio came out from the Precedent’s office side of the Villa in less than five minutes in the company of Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Prompt News understood that Mr. President had already left his office before the three top officials of APC arrived. They later went to Vice President, Kashim Shettima’s office from where they departed.
It was however gathered that the APC Party Chairman (Ganduje) may be trying to take Uzodimma, who is currently the Chairman of APC Progressive Governors Forum, his estranged party member (Okorocha) and Gov Sanwo-Olu to the President’s residence for a closed doors meeting to repair damaged relationship.
Although the agenda of the meeting was not made public at the time of filing this report, it may not be unconnected with the forthcoming Governorship election in Imo state and the face- off between Uzodimma and Okorocha, who was the Governor of Imo State between 2011 and 2019.
Recall that the Committee set up by the Imo State Government on the Recovery of Public Property recently indicted Okorocha and some of his political allies for a massive malfeasance while the former governor ran the affairs of Imo state like a private estate.
