Newly appointed Head coach of Nigeria’s senior football team, Super Eagles, Eric Sekou Chelle has said he is in Nigeria to work for the success of the team even as he said he is aware that Nigeria has great pedigree in African football.
Speaking shortly after signing his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) at the Media Centre of Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Monday, Chelle said he understands the enormity of the job of coaching Super Eagles and pledged to hit the ground running.
According to him, he was once a national team player and also understands what is involved in national team set, just as he said Nigeria has produced top players from the past years to the present, paying tributes to former players including NFF Technical Director, Augustine Eguavoen.
Chelle was presented to the media by the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Shehu Dikko; NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau; Dr. Mohammed Sanusi and members of NFF Technical and Development Committee.
