Nasarawa State House of Assembly has passed a bill to amend, repeal and re-enact the Nasarawa State Harmonisation and Administration of Revenue Law.
The House also passed a bill to amend the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia Nasarawa State 2020.
Mr Danladi Jatau, the Speaker of the house, announced the passage of the two bills during the house proceedings on Wednesday in Lafia.
The speaker said the bill, when assented to by Gov. Abdullahi Sule, would curtail multiple tax collections and boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state.
He also said that the bill would checkmate irregularities or problems associated with revenue collection in the state.
On College of Agriculture, Science and Technology bill, the speaker said that the bill would change the nomenclature of the headship of the institution from Provost to Rector and Deputy Provost to Deputy Rector.
The speaker directed the clerk of the House to communicate the House resolution to Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his further necessary action.
Earlier, Mr Suleiman Azara, the Majority Leader of the house, moved motions for the two bills to scale the third reading which was seconded by the Minority Leader, Mr Luka Zhekaba.

Similarly, the jouse deliberated on the report of the House Committee on Education, Science and Technology on a bill to establish the Wing Commander Abdullahi Ibrahim Vocational and Technology Institute Lafia.
The speaker slated April 15 for the passage of the bill.

Earlier, Mr Suleiman Azara, the Majority Leader, moved a motion for the adoption of the committee’s report.
Mr Luka Zhekaba, the Minority Leader seconded the motion.
The house unanimously adopted the report. (NAN)
