Kelechi Iheanacho expressed his satisfaction after playing a decisive role in Celtic’s hard-earned 2-1 victory over Dundee at Dens Park on Sunday, Prompt News reports.
Martin O’Neill’s side closed the gap at the top of the table to just three points, thanks to goals from Yang and Iheanacho.
The Nigerian striker netted his fourth goal of the season — and his first since early October — marking a welcome return after an injury-disrupted campaign.
Speaking after the match, Iheanacho was pleased to contribute to another important league win.
“It feels great to help the team secure the victory today. We showed real character and worked extremely hard,” he told Celtic TV.
“I think in the first half we were dominant and created several chances, but we couldn’t quite convert them.
“In the second half, they came back and scored from the penalty spot, but we stayed focused and got the win, which is very important.
“I’ve been out for a while, so it’s good to be back and contributing again. I’m really happy.”
