JERSEY ISLAND – Tournament favourite, Oman defeated Nigeria Sunday evening in their second game of the ongoing ICC World Division 5 League holding in Jersey Island, United Kingdom.

Nigeria’s Yellow Green Team which defeated Tanzania on Saturday lost by 181 runs to the firepower of Oman that were at the last ICC world cup which was won by West Indies.

Oman scored 220 runs for 6 wickets in 50 overs as against Nigeria that batted and scored 39 runs all out in 23.5 Runs.

Speaking after the match, Mr.  Kayode Adeniyi who led the delegation, said though the Yellow Green team lost badly, hope is not lost as the team still has opportunity to redeem its image.

Nigeria will meet Vanuatu on Tuesday in what analysts have described as a “make or mar Match”.

The first two teams will be promoted to division 4.
