The Permanent Secretary, Ecological Project Office (EPO), Malam Shehu Ibrahim, has assumed duties and assured the workers of his dedication, loyalty and commitment to effective service delivery.
At the handing-over ceremony on Friday in Abuja, Ibrahim appreciated the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, for the confidence reposed in him.
The new boss said that he had been privileged to work with the SGF, in the past and in his most recent assignment as Permanent Secretary, Political and Economic Affairs Office, (OSGF).
He expressed acceptance of the task given to him, adding that he would do his best to surpass his past records.
He also thanked the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Dr Folashade Yemi-Esan, for the opportunity given to him, saying that he would not disappoint the government.
” I appreciate Dr Yemi-Esan for finding it right to deploy me to EPO as the permanent secretary at this time.
“I will continue to be guided under her mentorship and do my outmost best to deliver on this assignment.
“I will also commend the immediate past Permanent Secretary, Dr Habiba Lawal, who is now the Special Adviser to Mr President on Policy and Coordination, for the enormous efforts she put into the office during her tenure.
“To the management and staff of the EPO, I am ready to work as a colleague and as a family with everyone without biases,” he said.
Ibrahim, however, promised to study the handing-over notes to have a full grasp of the work in the office and get clarification where necessary.
In her remark, Lawal, appealed the staff to give the permanent secretary necessary cooperation that would enhance the provision of the desired leadership.
According to her, Ibrahim is competent, resourceful and well able to manage the office.
Earlier, the outgoing Director, who oversaw the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Dr Famous Eseduwo, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to have served in the capacity for a period of time.
He said the handing-over notes would provide the permanent secretary the required information to oversee the office. (NAN)
