The public announcement made by Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello notwithstanding, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, a chieftain of the PDP, has denied joining the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Prompt News reports that Governor Bello, had earlier in the day in a video that went viral formally welcomed Fani-Kayode to the APC, promising he would be treated fairly.
But, in a tweet via his verified twitter handle @realFFK, Fani-Kayode said he has not left the PDP.
“Though we have had meetings across party lines and we are in a season of political consultation I have not left the PDP,” he tweeted.
Prompt News recalls that he had earlier tweeted having “productive meeting” with Governor Yahaya Bello and his Yobe state counterpart who doubles as APC caretaker chairman, Mai Mala Buni.
“Yesterday I had the honor & privilage of having a very productive & important meeting with the Nat. Chairman of the APC, Gov. Mai Buni of Yobe state & Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi state. We discussed the state of the nation, national issues, party politics & the way forward,” he had tweeted on Tuesday.
