American rapper Kanye West has admitted that he is not a fan of Kendrick Lamar’s music, despite acknowledging his talent as a rapper.
In a Friday night post on X, Kanye, also known as Ye, expressed his disappointment over Kendrick’s feature on Playboi Carti’s latest album, I Am Music.
“I don’t like Kendrick Lamar’s music,” the controversial personality wrote. “He raps very good but I didn’t need to hear him on Carti’s album.”
This comes after Kanye criticised another rapper, J. Cole, for apologising to Kendrick over a diss track.
During his performance at the 2024 Dreamville Festival, J. Cole publicly expressed regret for dissing Kendrick in response to the latter’s shots at him and Drake on Future and Metro Boomin’s song “Like That”. J. Cole called his diss track the “lamest sht” he had ever done.
However, Kanye argued that J. Cole made a mistake by apologising.
