Chude Jideonwo, host of the viral talk show #WithChude, is gearing up to release his most personal book yet — How Depression Saved My Life. The book, set to drop in August, is about turning pain into joy and finding light even in the darkest moments.
The book explores themes of success, failure, personal growth, and mental health. It tells the story of how external achievements, fame, and professional milestones did not bring the fulfillment Chude Jideonwo expected.
Sharing his excitement online, Chude said, “When I saw this cover for my new book, I was screaming. First, I love it so hard. So hard. Second, I am too excited about this book. This is my most important message to the world today.”
“When I finished writing it, it healed me again,” he shared. “And then I knew, without a shadow of doubt, that the world desperately needs this message. I knew it when I heard clearly the word to write this book. I knew it when my publishers confirmed it by giving me my first traditional publishing contract in 25 years. And I knew again when I was done, and I threw my head back and wept.”
Chude also mentioned this would be the last time he talks about the book until after Africa’s Biggest Talk Concert — the first-ever #WithChude Live — where he will host Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Funke Akindele, Bovi Ugboma, and Pastor Jerry Eze.
The official release of his highly anticipated book, How Depression Saved My Life, is scheduled for August, but readers do not have to wait until then. The book is available for pre-order at howdepressionsavedmylife.com or book.withchude.com.
“This is such a blessing to share with the world. Go pre-order now,” Jideonwo added.
