The Chairman House Committee on Sports, Ekene Adams Abubakar, has charged Nigeria Football Federation to uphold its statues in running the affairs of the round leather game towards bringing the country’s football back on track.
Hon. Ekene made this known during the peace parley between the House committee and leadership of NFF at the Committee room of green chamber, while addressing the petitions before the committee brought by two affiliate of NFF Plateau and Nasarawa state football associations over the normalization committees set up by the federation.
The Committee also pleaded with the NFF to resolve the issues regarding the two affected State Football Associations where Normalisation Committees were set up.
“What we are simply saying following petitions received from the two State FAs is that the Federation should respect and go back to their statute to restore peace in Nigeria football,” the Chairman said.
In response the President of the Federation, Ibrahim Gusau accompanied by 1st Vice Chairman Ayansi and Dr. Sanusi Mohammed General Secretary, assured the House Committee that all the lingering issues regarding the State FAs elections will be resolved.
In conclusion , the House Committee promised to hold another parley where other stakeholders with one issue or the other would be invited to state their sides of misgivings against the NFF and resolve the issue amicably.
