ABUJA – By Olusegun Lawrence. Northern Senators have warned community leaders to stop making reckless statement over Fulani-Herdsman/ Farmers clashes across the country.
A communique issued at the end of the senators meeting under the aegis of Northern Senators Forum chaired by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, reads:
“The forum resolved to continue its complete support for President Muhammadu Buhari in order to bring about even development to all sections of the country.
“That members of the Forum shall work assiduously to enact laws and amend existing ones when and where necessary in order to promote the interest of northern Nigeria and Nigeria in general
“That we note and appreciate the steps that the Federal government has taken so far to contain the problems of herdsmen/farmers clashes and call on community leaders to be careful when making statement on these ugly incidence.”
