Three students of the Isa Mustapha Agwai l Polytechnic in Lafia, Nasarawa State, have reportedly been shot by suspected gunmen.
It was gathered that the assailants also abducted one female student simply identified as Ajoke, an ND ll student of Science Laboratory Technology.
The incident occurred around 08:00pm on Monday, DAILY TRUST reports.
The students, who sustained gunshot injuries, were said to be receiving treatment at Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH), Lafia.
The shot victims are Freedom Luka and Ogwuche Janet said to be students of HND l Public Administration and HND II Business Administration and Management respectively, as well as one Danladi Nicholas said to be seeking admission.
Our correspondent also reports that security at the Polytechnic environment has continued to be a source of concern for students, staff and residents.
The attack was confirmed at a press briefing on Tuesday by the institution’s, Rector, Dr. Justina Anjiode-Kotso.
Anjiode-Kotso, who was represented by Mr. Louis John Ogah, the Deputy Rector Academic, said the matter had been reported to the security agencies in the state.
According to him, investigation into the ugly development is ongoing to ascertain the true situation of the incident. READ ALSO:

He added that security operatives were con the trail of the abductors to ensure that the victims are rescued unhurt.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Nasarawa State Command, DSP Ranham Nansel, did not pick up his calls or respond to a text message sent to his mobile as of the time of filing this report.
