To demonstrate that he is not incapacitated as being speculated, Governor Danbaba Suntai on Wednesday dissolved the State Executive Council.
According to Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Sylvanus Giwa, all the Commissioners are to handover to their respective Permanent Secretaries with immediate effect.
Also affected in the Cabinet shakeup is the Secretary to the State Government. In his place, Timothy Gibon Kataps has been appointed as SSG.
In the same vein, the Chief of Staff has been given sent packing while Aminu Jika is to assume office as Chief of Staff immediately.
The Media Adviser also explained that the sweeping changes became necessary so as to strengthen the administration for better performance.
Governor Suntai returned to the country on Sunday from the United States after about nine months absence. On Monday, he transmitted a letter to the State House of Assembly informing members that he was ready to resume work.
Interestingly, the leadership of the Assembly demanded that Governor should address the legislators at plenary while other groups have also demanded that he address a world press conference to demonstrate that he is really capable of ruling the state.
While Suntai was away, Deputy Governor Garba Umar, has been acting.
