Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has restated his administration’s commitment to provide quality healthcare services to the people of the state.
Sule stated this when members of the Governing Council of the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency visited him in Lafia on Friday.
The governor said that his administration had keyed into different quality health policies and programmes, to improve on the health status of the people.
He commended the council for the visit and assured them of his government’s determination to support the agency to succeed.
“My government has built and still building hospitals and equipped them with modern facilities. As a healthy nation is a wealthy nation.
“My administration will continue to give attention to the health sector for improved health status and standard of living of our people,” he said.
Sule urged the council to continue to be up and doing to ensure that the agency achieves its goals and objectives of universal health coverage.
The governor also urged health personnel to continue to be professional while discharging their duties for the overall development of the state.
Earlier, Amb. Abdullahi Bage, Chairman of the Governing Council, said that they visit was to appreciate the governor for the attention he had been giving to the health sector.
“This is evident in the activities of the agency and among other commitments of the governor in the heath sector,” he said.
The chairman assured of universal health coverage for the people of the state. (NAN)
