Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has described the recent killing of 25 travellers in Plateau as saddening and unfortunate.

Mohammed made this known in a statement by signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Malam Mukhtar Gidado, and made available to newsmen in Bauchi on Monday.

He said the victims were innocent citizens whose right to life was unjustly deprived, saying those innocent souls were peace loving individuals.

He appealed for calm among the residents and cautioned them against taking the law into their hands, stressing that government would definitely fish out the perpetrators.

Mohammed commended the proactive measures taken by the authorities to forestall further breach of law and order, while calling on the security to bring perpetrators to book.

He commiserated with the families of all those who lost their lives in the unfortunate incident while specially condoling the revered Islamic scholar Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi for the departed souls.

The governor prayed for the repose of the souls of the victims and extended his condolence to their relations and prayed for Allah’s mercy on their souls. (NAN)
