Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has saluted former Governor of the defunct Gongola State, and one time National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, on his 85th birthday.
Fintiri felicitated with the elder statesman in a statement signed by his Press Secretary, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, on Tuesday in Yola.
He Described Tukur as a quintessential businessman and politician, who made a difference in service to Nigeria and the state in different capacities, with the whole of his heart.
Fintiri noted that Tukur’s tenure as National Chairman of the PDP, was a sacrifice where he offered himself for service at a difficult time and succeeded in uniting the party.
“Hope that the elder statesman’s 85th birthday, like his lifetime, is full of love from family and friends, unbridled joy, unforgettable moments and ultimately, happy memories.
“You were able to carve a niche for yourself in the wheels of Nigeria’s democratic progress,” Fintiri said.
The governor prayed that Tukur’s 85th birthday would bring joy, peace and health that would come with a life well lived.
He described the former governor as an illustrious son of Adamawa, adding that his outstanding services to the state and Nigeria would never be forgotten easily; and wished him a happy birthday.
