By Godwin Kingsley, Lafia Nasarawa State Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura, on Tuesday performed the foundation laying ceremony of Specialist Hospital in Akwanga Local Government Area of the state.
The governor while laying the foundation stone of the 60-bed hospital said the town was chosen because of its strategic position in the state.
Gov. Al-makura explained that when the hospital is completed, it would have specialized departments that would cater for all sorts of illnesses.
He added that any illness that cannot be treated in the proposed hospital can only be referred to a teaching hospital.
Governor Al-makura also commended the traditional council of Mada Chiefdom for intervening and settling the dispute that arose on the land in which the specialist hospital is been situated.
He also commended the family-concerned for deciding to resolve it on a round-table.
The Governor however, urged the people of Akwanga to be law abiding and support the government for Akwanga town to be fully developed to its potentials.
