There are indications that the administration of the immediate past Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Mr. Babatunde Fowler may be under scrutiny.
A pointer to what is about to come is the cancellation of FIRS Staff Promotion Examination scheduled for this week till further notice.
Prompt News Online exclusively gathered from credible sources at FIRS’ Wuse Zone 5, headquarters in Abuja that the management has stopped the promotion examination billed for Tuesday, December 17, 2019.
Our source who knows the internal working of FIRS disclosed that the agency’s staffers across the country welcomed the cancellation of the proposed internal examination just as they are sure that the new boss will follow due process to ensure that those who officers who have been denied their promotions for long will now have hope of moving to the next position.
According to the source who is taking part in the postponed examination, FIRS staff across the nation are jubilating over the postponement because they believe that the new helmsman will right the wrongs the former chairman had done in the system.
It was also gathered from the source that the erstwhile Chairman was guilty of among other things rendering many of the core staffers of FIRS redundant for the past four years while consultants took over their primary assignments.
