The Abia State Government has stated that Finidi George remains the head coach of Enyimba Football Club.
Sporting director, Ifeanyi Ekwueme released a statement on Monday declaring the dissolution of the club’s technical crew headed by the former Super Eagles winger.
Ekwueme further said interested coaches including Finidi should re-apply for their job.
The directive has now been countered by state government.
*The Abia State Government wish to call on the general public to disregard the story making the rounds that the technical bench of Nigeria’s premier league champions, Enyimba International Football Club, Aba, has been sacked,” the government said in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Kazie Uko.
“There is no iota of truth in that fable as no directive has been issued in that regard by either the state government or the club’s management.
“Mr. Finidi George, manager of Enyimba and Nigeria’s former international, remains in charge at the club. Likewise all other officers. “
PROMPT NEWS reports that Finidi guided the Peoples’Elephant to a historic ninth Nigeria Premier League title last month.
