The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed will on Wednesday make public a comprehensive breakdown of the highlights of the 2023 Budget estimates, totalling N20.51 trillion.
President Muhammadu Buhari had on Friday, 19th of October, presented the 2023 Budget estimates christened “Budget of Fiscal Consolidation and Transition” to the joint session of the National Assembly.
The President had disclosed that sources through which the budget deficit will be funded include, new borrowings totalling N8.80 trillion, N1.77 trillion drawdowns on bilateral/multilateral loans secured for specific development projects/programmes and Privatisation Proceeds, amounting to N206.18 billion.
An Invitation for the public presentation and breakdown of the Budget was signed by the Director General of the Budget Office of the Federation (BOF), Mr Ben Akabueze.
It was addressed to: “All Heads of Federal Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies; Representatives of States and Local Governments, Private Sector Operators and Associations; Captains of Commerce and Industries; Development Partners; Civil Society Organizations; Media Practitioners and other relevant stakeholders”.
According to the Invitation, the event is scheduled to hold both virtually and physically at the main auditorium of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Abuja.
